FÜRSTENRIED WEST District

Berggarten

In the heart of the sustainable FÜRstenried West district, BERGGARTEN is a modern new building that combines urban quality of life, social infrastructure, and sustainable architecture. The six-story new building blends harmoniously into the green neighborhood and offers a total of 16 modern apartments on the upper floors with well-designed floor plans for a wide variety of lifestyles. The ground floor and first floor house a two-story children’s center (HfK) with a daycare center, nursery, and after-school care facility, making BERGGARTEN particularly attractive for families with children. The combination of living space and childcare directly in the building is symbolic of the neighborhood’s integrative, sustainable concept. Particular attention has been paid to the quality of the construction: BERGGARTEN is being built using a hybrid construction method – combining a reinforced concrete structure with self-supporting wooden panel exterior walls. The striking façade design with large-format fiber cement panels and finely grooved wooden slats gives the building a modern yet warm appearance. Green roofs, a photovoltaic system, and a climate-friendly energy concept based on district heating actively contribute to sustainability. The design of the outdoor facilities and the traffic-calmed access round off the family-friendly concept. BERGGARTEN stands for a future-oriented lifestyle in the south of Munich – lively, communal, and resource-efficient.

Tradition with a future

With its historical heritage and the centuries-old buildings that make up its picturesque cityscape, the Bavarian capital is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. The cultural highlights, many with a long tradition, and its status as a business and science metropolis not only offer an exceptionally high quality of life for its citizens, but also make Munich a sought-after location for companies, creative artists and people who love something special. The close connection between urban structures and the pure experience of nature is one such unique feature. As Munich’s “river of life”, the renaturalised Isar, which makes for fun swimming in the heart of the city, is an integral part of the cityscape. The English Garden is also a hotspot for romantics, culture vultures, sports enthusiasts and nature lovers who come here to take a stroll, enjoy a picnic, play sport and have fun – and is a symbol of Munich citizen’s attitude to life. In addition to the countless cultural offerings in the city centre, the surrounding mountains and lakes offer attractive local recreational destinations that appeal to a great many tourists. Far beyond Bavaria’s borders, the Munich Oktoberfest and the Hofbräuhaus, which opened in 1589, are among the city’s landmarks. Just like the Marienplatz, the carillon of the neo-Gothic New Town Hall, the State Opera, the Stachus and the many beautiful beer gardens in the countryside, they define the city’s face and character.

Munich Fürstenried

Living with history, nature, and community

Fürstenried is located in the south of the Bavarian capital – a district that has retained its quiet, down-to-earth, and family-friendly character since its inception as a residential area. Characterized by spacious residential complexes, single-family homes, and lots of green space, Fürstenried combines established structures with a high quality of life. The district’s landmark is the baroque Fürstenried Palace, which is not without reason referred to as “Little Nymphenburg.” Families appreciate the child-friendly atmosphere, the good educational infrastructure, and the well-thought-out urban planning with plenty of space to live, play, and breathe. The palace park, Forstenrieder Park, and the wildlife park offer attractive recreational opportunities right in the neighborhood—complemented by an active club life that strengthens the sense of community. Fürstenried has excellent transport connections: the subway takes commuters quickly to the city center, and the nearby highway provides quick access to the Munich suburbs. Local amenities are also well catered for: weekly markets are held regularly around Schweizer Platz, which features the “Schweizer Brocken” fountain as a local highlight. A REWE supermarket and a new EDEKA store cater for daily needs. Traditional restaurants and beer gardens also dot the streetscape – popular meeting places for young and old alike. Last but not least, its proximity to the commercial and industrial location of Obersendling Fürstenried also makes it a sought-after place to live for working people – with the perfect mix of urban proximity and village charm.
